Empty Boxes

(Published on 18. February 2024, 06:21 by meggen033)

I had this idea that it would be cool if I could use the disjoint constraint to set a puzzle with no clues in the corner 4 boxes…I almost got it…

Solve with CTC, f-puzzles or Penpa+

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Disjoint Set: Digits must not repeat at corresponding box positions.

The digits in a cage must sum to the number printed in its corner.

Adjacent digits along a green german whisper line must have a difference of at least 5.

A black dot between cells indicates cell values with a 2:1 ratio. A white dot between cells indicates cells with consecutive values. Not all dots are shown.

Cells with a filled circle must be odd.

Happy Solving and God Bless!!!

This was an amazing and enjoyable puzzle. Thanks! It was so close to having no clues in those 4 boxes, it makes me wonder if anyone has ever succeeded in making a single-solution sudoku with those 4 boxes completely empty.

@anyeyeball - Challenge accepted! I do want to see if it can be done. I just left this one as is because it all fell together so nicely. Also, glad you enjoyed the puzzle.

@Virux I just solved it without any issues on CtC, maybe you made some error and you didn't think about the disjoint set rule, which the checker follows?
