Part 1. Strangely Dressed Man
Part 2. ???????

Play on SudokuPad

Last night, a strangely dressed man handed me an envelope, and walked away without saying a word. Inside was what appeared to be a classic sudoku puzzle. Unsure what else to do, I began to pencil mark it, but the given digits had been printed in dissappearing ink, and vanished before my eyes! Now all that's left is an empty grid with my pencil marks...

Do you think you could restore the sudoku for me by placing JUST the 18 given digits back in the grid? I'm sure they were trying to tell me something...

Solution code: The given digits in row 4

Highly enjoyable.
I found the backwards solving necessary to be quite confusing, but I pulled it off. It's probably a lot easier for those used to setting puzzles.

Great! Just need to know what corner marks mean and the rest is just wrapping your mind around working backwards.

Brilliant as usual - the classic sudoku you end up with at the end is also lovely to solve.

Very unusual logic that I agree is not too hard. 3 stars feels appropriate.

It is possibly worth explaining the meanings behind corner and centre pencil marking in the rules in case there are solvers who use different systems.

This puzzle is definitely worth your time and actually fairly easy once your wrap your mind around what you have to do.
