Wurscht-Chäs-Solot

(Published on 8. February 2024, 22:30 by wuc)

Typical Swiss Meal: Wurscht-Chäs-Solot. Meaning "a little bit of everything". Have fun.

  • Standard sudoku rules apply: The digits 1 through 9 appear in every row, column, and box.
  • Thermometers: Digits on Thermos are strictly increasing from bulb to tip.
  • Killer-Cages: Digits in cages cannot repeat and must sum to the value shown in the upper left corner of the cage.
  • X-Dominos: Cells separated by an X must sum to 10. Not all Xs are necessarily given (no negative constraint).
  • Kropki pairs: Digits in cells separated by a black dot are in a 2:1 ratio. Digits in cells separated by a white dot are consecutive. Not all dots are necessarily given.
  • Between Lines: Digits placed on Between Lines must be strictly between the digits placed in the circles at the ends of those lines.

It is a between line in R3C7 to R7C4.

So numbers on the line are between the circled digits, making a lower and upper limit.

Would be good to update ruleset, but fun puzzle nonethless.

@asp, I had the same question and thought it was the former, but I am stuck now if that’s the rule.

Are those between-lines (numbers on the line must not be greater than, less than or equal to the circled digits) or double-arrows (total of the numbers in the circles equal the total of the numbers on the line)?

The rules here do not mention this rule, and the SudokuPad does not have embedded rules at all!
