Place a digit in each cell such that in any row, column, or 3x3 box, if a digit is present, it appears exactly its own number of times.
Digits may not repeat within a cage.
Solution code: Both main diagonals, top left to bottom right then bottom left to top right

Can I get a clairification of the rules for this one please?
What I'm reading is that if say a 9 appears in box 9, it must appear nine times in box 9, nine times in rows 7, 8, & 9, and nine times in columns 7, 8, & 9. Following this logic, all cells must contain 9s.
Obviously, that's not right considering that digits may not repeat in cages. So basically, there can be no 9s in the puzzle.
Am I understanding this correctly?

I hardly remember solving this, it was more like I sat down and stared at a blank grid and eventually I had a very colourful grid filled with numbers. What a beautiful idea!
Edit: Hi Simon!
