Arrows With A Difference
(Published on 29. January 2024, 16:33 by arbitrary)
An experiment with a twist on sum arrows. If this isn't an original constraint, please let me know in the comments and I'll credit the precedent. Solvers will want to disable conflict checking since the software treats these as standard arrows.
Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- Digits connected by an X sum to 10.
- Subtraction arrows: Digits within circles are equal to the difference between the largest digit and all other digits on the connected arrow. For example, if an arrow contained the digits 1, 2 and 6, then the circle digit would be 3.

That was a really nice next step after the "small differences" introductory puzzle. Those arrows are a great twist on a standard rule. It feels like they have a lot of potential. Thanks!

Nice! Tough, but fair.

Very nice concept and fluent solve.
Needs a bit of thinking.
Couldn't ask for more.
