Between Mines

Rules:
  • Normal Sudoku rules apply
  • Digits along a grey line must be strictly between the two circled values at the end of the line. Digits may repeat along a line if allowed by the other rules
  • Shade some cells so that the shaded cells form an orthogonally connected region such that there are no 2x2 shaded or unshaded regions
  • Circled digits are never shaded, and also act as minesweeper clues, indicating how many of the neighbouring 8 cells are shaded.

That was a lot of fun. I spent way too much time in one section of the grid, thinking it was the best place to start, but ended up finding my first digit completely on the other side. And the way some digits forced others was really quite fun to uncover.

Enjoyed the solve a lot! Struggled a bit with the scanning, with several small pieces of logic working together throughout the grid. Which feels really rewarding once you find a bigger deduction.
