ıI Balance Loop II

(Published on 20. January 2024, 07:15 by ElChiglia)

---- RULES ----

Normal Sudoku rules apply: Fill the grid with digits 1 to 9 appearing once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.

Balance Loop: Draw a single 1-cell-wide loop of orthogonally connected cells into the grid that enters no cell more than once. The loop must pass by all cells containing squares or circles. The loop may pass straight through circles and squares or may turn at them. The loop acts as a parity line. Adjacent cells along the loop have opposite parity.

Squares: Squares must have two loop segments of equal length extending from them before turning. A digit in a square equals the sum of the lengths of both segments.

Circles: Circles must have two loop segments of unequal length extending from them before turning. A digit in a circle equals the sum of the lengths of both segments.

Little Killers: A clue outside the grid is the sum of the digits along the indicated diagonal.

Great puzzle! fun to solve!

The note in the 6x6 example must be from another puzzle, or at least for m eat do not make sense

Cute and nice (slightly simpler) change from your other loop puzzles.

This one really needs the example, as there's at least one component of the rules that isn't necessarily obvious at all, but is revealed by the smaller example.

Really interesting and fun loop building! I wonder why so few people have solved this. I also liked how you could determine the exact meaning of the rules even if you don't look at the example puzzle. I soon found out that my original interpretation doesn't work.
