The start of a small series exploring different hybrids of Nuri-Maze and region building. These will vary in difficulty, but mostly lean to the harder side. Enjoy!
Rules:
Nuri-Maze: Shade some cells to form a maze. Clues cannot be shaded. There can not be a 2x2 square of all shaded or all unshaded cells. For each pair of unshaded cells, there is exactly one path of edge-adjacent unshaded cells connecting them, i.e. all unshaded cells form an orthogonally contiguous area without any loops. There is exactly one path between S and G that doesn't require backtracking. Circles must be part of this path, while triangles must not.
Pentominoes: Divide up all shaded cells into pentominoes, i.e. regions of exactly five cells. Pentominoes may touch but not overlap each other. No pentomino shape is used more than once, counting rotations and reflections as the same.
Solution code: for the last 5 rows from top to bottom, the number of contiguous segments of unshaded cells

Cool puzzle. That's a very clever design with the pentominoes.
I find these Nuri-Maze puzzles quite challenging. Maybe I'm better at reasoning with numbers than shapes, or maybe I'm just more experienced with sudoku variants.
