Normal sudoku rules apply.
Digits which are an equal distance from the center of a lavender 'zipper' line have the same sum. For odd length lines, that sum is also the central digit.

Wow, over 4 hours for me. I got a bit stuck in the middle due to an early assumption about box 2, but once I checked other options, it all fell into place.

Solved it the "hard way", and now know an "easy(ier) way": this puzzle is hard either way, but has hidden elegance which uncovers my hard fought deduction almost like magic and does more besides. Quite remarkable.

Probably the most well-hidden opening for a zipper line puzzle I've seen so far (and that also made for one of the hardest zipper line puzzles too), but after that everything just got resolved like magic and even more magic. Mindblowing and rewarding solve overall! :o
