I got stuck for a minute - then re-read the rules and figured out what I'd missed. The puzzle fell apart after that. Thanks for setting and sharing!

Maybe I'm the only one who found a break-in in box 3 by determining the very limited possibilities for the digits on the Kropki dots. This led to determining the "ladder" in c9 and the discovery that r6c8 must be an even number (the cage requirement eliminating all but one of these). From then on it was rather easy. Of course, ruling out certain digits for the Whisper centers was a prerequisite.

this one should be 2 stars or more. Don't know if I went a harder way but limit 37 in middle box with 23 cage isn't easy to see

Yeah, don't see this as a one star unless you're an advanced solver. The rating system should work for both novices and advanced solvers alike. You need some reasonable experience with German Whisper's and good scanning skills for this.
Thoroughly enjoyed though!!

quite a tricky break in but fairly easy from there

I loved this puzzle but have rated it as 2 star difficulty. The logic is beautiful though, truly inspired setting.
