This puzzle was created as a secret santa gift for Bill Murphy.
Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply within each 9x9 grid. From left to right, top to bottom, the following lines have the following properties:
(Note: The parts of lines in between grids are ignored. For example, R9C5 of Grid 1 and R1C5 of Grid 4 are considered adjacent and therefore will have opposite parity.)
Solve online:
Solution code: Left to right, top to bottom, the digit in R1C1 of each grid. (i.e. R1C1 in the top left grid, R1C1 in the top middle grid, etc.)

DNF'ed first attempt at around 460 mins and finished in another 697 mins from scratch with a few Check button click and rewinds...
didn't feel very hard for 85% of the puzzle but the last bit was a pain for me.

Absolutely amazing. One tiny false assumption mucked up my first go but it was a great reward sticking with it. Thanks mathpesto!!

7 hours of an enjoyable mind marathon. I cannot imagine the work needed in setting up such a puzzle.

Loved that. Now to reunite with my family after ignoring them for a few days.

Until the solution code was submitted, I spent 8.45 hours on this puzzle... Of course, this was all done in the fragmented time of these few days...
And...actually I'm not really done yet. But to be honest, this is really, really, really an extremely painful protracted battle...
I'll leave another comment once I've completely finished this puzzle...

...9.6 hours...I finally finished it...

Added penpa+ links and adjusted difficulty

The puzzle itself is not very difficult, I think it's about three stars. It just took a long time, and I took four hours to solve it slowly. Although the problem-solving process is relatively easy, I think the setup process should be time-consuming. Thank you for your puzzle.

Just like Myxo and KNT said, I also think penpa is a better tool.
The grid of this size is not suitable for using CTC to solving this solving, because the display interface is too unfriendly for both mobile phone users and computer users. And there is another reason... it may not load the previous solution records correctly...
…When I reopened the CTC page today, I found that all the solution records from last night had been cleared. (I did not clear the browser cache and browsing history during this period.)
I don’t know if it’s because the grid is too large(29*29!!!) and CTC can’t save the solution records normally.
I don't know if this has happened to anyone. But to be honest, due to problems caused by inappropriate tools, the entire process fell short, which was definitely a huge blow to the solvers.

@h5663454
Apologies that the sudokupad ended up clearing the solution records from you. When I added initially tried adding a penpa+ links here, it wouldn't load properly. To any other solvers as well, I think it should be resolved now though, as a well as a backup link.

The difficulty should be lower than 5 stars. It takes a looong time as you can imagine.

I second the comment by @Myxo, a penpa link for zoom would be most appreciated.

Do you mind providing a penpa link? I would love to solve this, but the lack of zooming in Sudokupad makes it very challenging :D

What a long and consistently entertaining journey! Hats off to you for creating such a delightful gargantuan gift, I’m pretty sure Bill would enjoy this gift greatly (though that would also take him quite a long time)
