(Published on 15. January 2024, 17:00 by ViKingPrime)

PUZZLE:

RULES:

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Between Lines: Digits along a line must be between the digits found in that line's circles;
digits may repeat if allowed by other rules.
Kropki: White dots separate consecutive digits.

MODIFIERS:

Entropic Counters: The digit in an orange circle indicates how many digits along that line are from the same Entropy group as itself, including both end circles
- either low {1, 2 or 3}, medium {4, 5 or 6} or high {7, 8 or 9}.

Modular Counters: The digit in a blue circle indicates how many digits along that line are from the same Modular group as itself, including both end circles
- either remainder one {1, 4 or 7}, two {2, 5 or 8} or zero {3, 6 or 9}.

INTRODUCTION:

A deeper delve into the logic from the previous puzzle, Systolic Pressure.

In case you're wondering, Sphygmomanometer is the technical word for a blood-pressure cuff.
There's a rap song about it.

Have fun!

A fascinating adaptation on the circles and between lines idea and a beautiful setting in which to present it!

My dad and I attempted this last week and stumbled through but not without several mistakes as it's certainly not easy to grasp at first, so I'm delighted that VKP has since made another puzzle with a similar ruleset, which I found surprisingly more manageable, and I can't wait to see (and potentially try to set) even more in this genre!

Really good puzzle, quite challenging. It's an interesting exploration of the possibilities with these counters.

Probably my most proud moment in just over a year of solving on this site. Retired math teacher - we don't give up.

@MarthaB - That was the best comment I think I've ever gotten, so we're both having a pretty great day it seems. Well done on the solve <3 -- VKP
