Return of the killer tomatoes (Shikaku killer)
(Published on 7. January 2024, 17:32 by PrimeWeasel)
Fill the grid with digits 1-9, digits can not repeat in a row or column. This is not a sudoku, but a latin square, there are no 3x3 regions.
Shikaku: Divide the complete grid into rectangles, every rectangle must contain a single circle. The number in a circle must equal the size of that respective rectangle. Within a rectangle, digits can not repeat
Killer cages: digits within a cage can't repeat and sum to the total given in the top left of the cage. Cages are confined within a rectangle.

Return of the killer tomatoes is an eighties cultmovie (with a young George Clooney) in case anyone was wondering what was up with the title :)

At first sight I did not understand why it was 5 stars. Now I understand. What a tough puzzle!

Lovely puzzle. The ending was intricate (just like the rest of the puzzle), but not brutal imo. Interesting all the way through!
Thanks Myxo, you seem to have figured out the right approach!

Very nice, with some brutal sudoku steps towards the end, at least in my opinion. But I probably missed a trick. Thank you
