Sharing Is Caring

(Published on 5. January 2024, 02:59 by ThePedallingPianist)

Play on SudokuPad (answer check does not work for hopefully obvious reasons!)

Place the digits 0-9 once each into every row, column and 2x2 box. Cells may contain up to four digits simultaneously, and cells in the same row/column/box may not contain the same number of digits. A cell's value is the sum of the digits it contains.

Values separated by a white dot are consecutive. Values separated by a black dot are in a 1:2 ratio. Values separated by an X sum to 10.

Solution code: Bottom row, left to right (where multiple digits appear in a cell, list the digits in ascending order)

Simply absurd that this works. I disagree with the last comment about bifurcation, it really wasn't needed anywhere. Careful accounting and math gets you there in the end.

I enjoyed this, but it's a bit bifurcatory. It's quite easy to make informed assumptions which lead to extended chains of reasoning... They're often too long for me to hold on my head but they all seem to lead to either a contradition or the solution.

This ruleset is absolutely mad. I thought the Schrodinger mechanic was outrageous. This mechanic just made all of the purists' heads explode.

Brilliant puzzle! Didn't expect a double-Schrodinger madness to have such a smooth solve path!

This puzzle is one of the most exciting in the history of sudoku

Oh yeah - satisfying!! What a fresh take on so many applications of variant sudoku. I started down a road and it quickly blew up. Then the second time got so near the end and didn't work. Third time was the charm. Thanks for the puzzle!

Wow, very nice puzzle! It took 45 minutes for me. I started this puzzle unsure of how any progress could possibly be made, but the design of this puzzle guides you through many secrets of the unique ruleset. All of the deductions were fun and satisfying to find. Thank you for this deceptively difficult puzzle!

This puzzle makes schrödinger cells look like a piece of cake :). Very nice logic and great presentation.

What a fun and well executed idea. The last major step took me a while, but I'm glad I stuck with it and found the right question to ask eventually.

Absolutely loved this, and rather proud of myself for managing it. Not the sort of thing I would have thought I'd be very good at, but for some reason I didn't struggle too much with visualising what needed to be done, and keeping the various options in mind at once.

What a fab and novel idea, and so well executed! Solving this felt different from any other puzzle I've done, and it was really fun working out the strategy. Simon will have a field day with this.

Loved the break-in, trying to figure out how to note everything going on was pleasantly challenging.
