Remote Chaos

(Published on 4. January 2024, 19:00 by XeonRisq)

  • The digits 0 to 9 must appear once in every row, column, and region. Regions are to be determined by the solver, and must be a set of ten orthogonally connected cells.
  • Each region will consist of exactly two colors of the three lines in the grid and may also contain empty cells.
  • Circles: A digit in a circle indicates the number of cells in its region that are on its line including itself.
  • Remote Sums: A digit X in a cage points to a second digit Y located X cells away on its line. The number in the top left corner of the cage gives the sum of X+Y. (A cage on an intersection of lines is not required to fulfill the sum on both lines, but at least one.)
  • Remote sum clues will always point to a circle cell.

Chaotic in many ways, but not remotely tedious! This is the most fun I've had with chaos construction yet. Superb setting!
-----
Thanks alot heliopolix.. Glad you enjoyed this one as much as I did exploring the interactions. Appreciate the feedback and solve.

At the time of writing, I haven't finished this puzzle. I keep attempting to make each region 9 cells large and it's not going very well...
-----
Each region contains the digits 0-9, so they do need to be 10 cells each.

Tested this one back in December, and didn't realise it had seen the light of day yet - fab effort Xeon, and one of my favourites of yours.

It goes without saying that most of my puzzles get the chilly sign of approval before they are exposed to the world, so you have my undying appreciation/loyalty. Thanks for the accolades/solve/etc..

I feel like the difficulty should be 5 stars because of the unique ideas the solve requires. Beautiful puzzle.
-----
I originally couldn't decide whether to post this as 4 or 5 star difficulty, but I was convinced by testing feedback that 4-star is appropriate. I do realize that this could sneak up into 5 star territory and it would be completely justified. I do appreciate the solve and feedback.
