Can You Feel It?

(Published on 2. January 2024, 04:03 by apete)

Normal Sudoku rules apply.
Digits in grey circles are odd.
Adjacent digits along green lines differ by at least 5. [German Whisper]
Numbers outside the grid are Skyscraper clues. Each digit indicates the number of "buildings" that could be seen from that edge and looking straight across the grid. (Each digit represents the height of a building filling each cell. Taller buildings obstruct the view of shorter ones.)
Digits in cages sum to the total if given.
~~~ atypical rule ahead ~~~
**Horizontally** adjacent cells with consecutive digits are separated by a white dot. All white dots are given...
**but they are invisible.**
Thank you. I am currently at work and unable to edit the linked puzzle. I’ll be cleaning that up once I’m home.
Update: The great Sven himself was able to correct my error without invalidating the link and existing solves. Many thanks!
Great puzzle, just a small typo still in the rules on the CtC app with the German Whispers rule still (says difference of 4 instead of 5). I will state this did not have any influence on my rating, just wanting to make sure you knew that was there. Thanks for setting this wonderful puzzle!
Fun puzzle, but I just wanted to clarify some things:
The rules state German Whispers differ by at least 4, but I solved it with the standard German Whispers, i.e. differ by at least 5.
There's a second "puzzle" after the sudoku is filled in where the atypical rule comes into play. It is not needed for the sudoku portion.
I had a warm fuzzy feeling for two reasons after finishing this puzzle. Thank you!
The single killer cages with no numbers and "atypical rules" are just confusing. Am I missing out on some hidden meaning? They have no impact on the puzzle.
Response from apete: They are part of a secondary puzzle to be done upon completing the main puzzle. The solution text will provide more information.
