Very clever, cool puzzle! Obviously it is intended for solvers who are familiar with the Phistomefel Ring and the common features of variant sudokus.

If that's not your thing, you could just move on and find a different puzzle. Or, you know, you could leave a long rambling screed here for some reason.

There's a reason the Phistomefel Ring is named after Phistomefel... it's because nobody solves it from first principles. It's just a piece of knowledge that you either know, or you don't. Usually, 95% of solving a Phistomefel Ring puzzle involves noticing that there's a Phistolmefel Ring involved; the rest is trivial.

Honestly I thought this puzzle would be different. To *name* the Phistomefel Ring in the rules, allowing the solver to go and look it up, and then work through the entire solution path without needing some obscure piece of knowledge... that would be something to celebrate!

Sadly, this puzzle does something *even worse*. I'd give this puzzle the lowest rating possible but that would mean I'd have to solve it. Maybe I will one day when I'm bored just because I think it deserves it.

Hi
Just wondering - what does "Normal constraint rules apply" mean?

It means the constraints that are in the puzzle (excluding antiknight since its global) are not listed in the ruleset and have to be found by the solver. For example, if there's a killer cage that the solver finds, then they'll know based on this rule that its a killer cage and nothing else. A lot of Fog puzzles I've done spoil the constraints in the rulesets so I wanted to not do that in this puzzle.

This puzzle routine is not the first time I've seen it, but it's still a good puzzle and should be worth a higher score
