Rules:
1. Shade some cells in the grid. The shaded cells are considered stream cells and the rest are island cells.
2. Stream cells are orthogonally connected and form a non-intersecting loop. No 2x2 region can fully be stream cells.
3. Each island is jointly formed by a group of orthogonally connected island cells and contains exactly one cell with a number + arrow clue. (i.e. the cells containing numbers and arrows are island cells)
4. The number simultaneously indicates the size of the island that the cell belongs to, as well as the total number of island cells in all the directions indicated, which does not include the numbered cell itself.
*5. This is a discarded draft of a puzzle from a puzzle hunt, which means that solvers need to extract an answer (an English word) from it).
Enjoy!

Fascinating puzzle, especially or although since I forgot about the loop even till I had a "valid" solution fulfilling all hint numbers.

I totally forgot about the loop until I have solved the puzzle half way. Using the loop makes this puzzle much easier.
