That's Deet deet doot in the corner (fog)

(Published on 1. April 2024, 00:00 by SudokuFan)

  • Normal Sudoku rules apply
  • Fog: The grid is partially covered in fog. Placing correct digits (without guessing!) will clear the fog from the surrounding cells, potentially revealing more clues.
  • Deet Deet Doot: A cell with a musical keyboard is in a corner of the grid and contains a 3. Not all possible musical keyboards are given.
  • Normal variant rules (detailed explanation below the image) apply for the following clue types, without any negative constraints:
    • Arrows
    • Black dots
    • German Whispers
    • Nabner lines
    • Quadruples
    • Renban lines
    • V clues

Play in SudokuPad

Detailed explanation for variant rules:
  • Arrows: Digits along an arrow must sum to that arrow's circled digit.
  • Black dots: Digits separated by a black dot must be in a 2:1 ratio. Not all possible dots are given.
  • German Whispers: Adjacent digits along a green line must differ by at least 5.
  • Nabner lines: Any two digits along a gold line must differ by at least 2.
  • Quadruples: Digits within a circle must appear at least once in the four surrounding cells.
  • Renban lines: Cells along a purple line contain a set of consecutive, non-repeating digits in any order.
  • V clues: Cells separated by a V must sum to 5. Not all V clues are given.

Not all possible musical keyboards are given. This allows you to place another digit.

Solution code: All cells in reading order (81 digits)

Ein schönes Rätsel und ein hübscher Aprilscherz. Mit Schnappschuss und Texterkennung kein Problem :-).

i get that this is an aprils fool thing but its actually sad that such nice a puzzle gets ruined by a bad hint for the start and a chore of a solution code...

bear in mind that the wording
"Not all possible musical keyboards are given.",
both by direct meaning AND by (universal) usage on this site, does NOT mean that there MUST be at least one exception. it means that there MAY be at least one exception.

furthermore, the wording "a cell ... is in a corner ..." ABSOLUTELY states that there is EXACTLY ONE such cell.

therefore, there is NO REASON why you should place a 3 in r1c1.

If you don't want people to enter the solution code then don't publish it here at all.

Please consider a more reasonable solution code in the future

Don't worry, I think the solution code is genius! I was disappointed that I then didn't have to write the digits again in reverse reading order though...
