✚ Whisper-me-Sum-thing Loop ✚

(Published on 9. December 2023, 07:15 by ElChiglia)

---- RULES ----

Normal Sudoku rules apply: Fill the grid with digits 1 to 9 appearing once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.

Whispering Loop: Draw a single 1-cell-wide loop of orthogonally connected cells into the grid. Different loop segments cannot touch, not even diagonally. The loop acts as a German Whispers line, i.e., adjacent digits along the loop must differ by at least 5.

Outside clues: Values outside of the grid indicate the total sum of all digits on the loop in that column or row.

Kropki dots: Cells connected by a white dot contain consecutive digits. Digits in cells connected by a black dot are in a 1:2 ratio.

Brutally hard puzzle. By far the hardest of the series, IMO.

Finally i have solved every puzzle by this author. Very nice puzzles! This one in particular was WAY harder for me than every other one. There must have been some logics that I completely missed, and i'm very curious what it was.

So hard! Some great logic in here but I doubt I found all of it, my version of the break-in in particular was very brute force.

Hey. Thanks for solving the puzzle! In case you are curious, I will try to sketch out my thoughts while setting the break-in in a hidden comment.

Even i solved it in 6 hours, i find it was easier than i thought. The logical is quite nice to solveand, really, the magigally modifying loop one was harder than this one. An other great one. I really enjoy your puzzles

Thanks for the feedback! The number of solves seems to agree that the Magically Modifying one is indeed the more complicated one :) Though I think their difficulty is not easy to compare because their style is quite different. Glad that you like my puzzles, thanks for solving them.

Wow, that was tough! Almost four hours of pain and patience. But not unfair. Very interesting puzzle.

I can only echo the other comments: very difficult but very satisfying to solve, excellent puzzle!

This puzzle is brutally hard, with extremely enjoyable and satisfying logic (provided that one manages to find it!).

This puzzle was a hard nut to crack, presenting a relentless challenge right up to the end. The sense of triumph upon completion was immense, making the journey of patience and problem-solving deeply rewarding. Highly recommended for those who relish overcoming tough puzzles.

Kept thinking I must've missed a rule, and couldn't believe for the longest time that it would actually solve. Unrelentingly hard til the very end.

Brutal, it took me 190 minutes. Beautiful logic.
