Squishpers

(Published on 8. December 2023, 00:14 by marty_sears)

This is the second in my series exploring what can be done with the brilliant Squishdoku ruleset invented by Jay Dyer in November 2023.

Part 1: Neatly Squished

Part 2: Squishpers

Part 3: A Bigger Squish

Part 4: Straddle

Part 5: ???

Rules:

  • SQUISHDOKU: Place digits from 1-9 in every cell, so that no digit repeats in a row, column, or 3x3 region. The dashed lines indicate the boundaries of regions, and cells on the dashed lines are simultaneously part of the regions on both sides of the line.
  • COUNTING CIRCLES: A circled digit indicates exactly how many circles contain that digit.
  • GERMAN WHISPERS: Adjacent digits along a green line have a difference of at least 5.
  • KROPKI DOTS: The black dot joins two digits that are in a 1:2 ratio (one is double the other.) Not all possible black dots are shown.
  • V: Digits joined by a V sum to 5.

Beautiful (and impressively quick) setting with a very cool new ruleset! Loved it!

Love how you've already made two great puzzles with the squishdoku ruleset, you're a very talented setter

Great fun, all of the rulesets worked nicely together. You really needed circle logic, whisper logic, and squishy logic to get through it, but was still fairly approachable.

A lot more approachable than at first glance, beautiful break-in and the rest just unfolds so nicely from there.
