(Published on 28. November 2023, 02:00 by ViKingPrime)

PUZZLE:

RULES:

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

German Whisper (green): Digits along each German Whisper line must differ by at least five [5].
Killer: Digits within a cage must sum to the number in the top-left corner.

Smarties (peach/turquoise): Each peach dot connects digits of a different difference (across all peach dots); each turquoise dot connects digits of the same difference (across all turquoise dots, to be deduced by the solver).

INTRODUCTION:

Introducing the "S.Marty" dot! If you know anything about Marty Sears and the puzzles he likes to create, you'll already have some familiarity with how this puzzle plays out. I hope you enjoy!

(P.S. if you're having trouble finding the Sears Tower, apparently they changed the name to "Willis Tower").

Great, fun, math challenge puzzle. Another that I'd started, and stalled. So glad I went back to it - and solved!

This was a lovely puzzle, I was thrilled to have a puzzle and indeed a new type of dot named after me haha! What a lovely surprise.
Aside from that though, really cool twist on same difference and different difference lines, and there were some really nice aha moments in this.

Very nice inner puzzle with the Smarties! Enjoyed it thoroughly, but felt more like a 3-star to me.

I may also have underestimated the difficulty and not looked into too complex deductions at first so it took a while. So 3/5 for me.

That being said, it was a very fun puzzle to solve so thank you VP!

Maybe it was just due to the novelty of the smarties dots, but I actually found this puzzle to be closer to a 3* for me. Nice one!

Delightful puzzle. I like the logical deductions that arise from the Smartie dot.
