Foggy Night v2 (FOW)

(Published on 26. November 2023, 14:43 by antiknight)

A part of the break-in of this puzzle is inspired by PotatoHead21. I wanted to set a puzzle with some ambiguity and mix it up with FOW. The first version was ill received so I made a second version of the puzzle. I'd appreciate any feedback on the updated version.

Rules:
1) Normal Sudoku rules apply:
Place the digits 1-9 into each cell of the grid. None of the rows, columns or boldly outlined 3x3 boxes contain repeated digits.

2) Modified Arrows rules apply:
The digits along each arrow must sum to the digit in the circled cell. Digits may repeat along an arrow if permitted by other rules. Arrows don't branch and don't overlap each other. An arrow circle can have multiple arrow tips connected to it. All arrows in the puzzle are of the same length and their length must be deduced by the solver except the arrows in R5C6 and R2C7.

3) Standard Kropki rules apply:
A black dot between cells indicates cell values with a 2:1 ratio. A white dot between cells indicates cells with consecutive values. Not all dots are given.

4) Fog of War rules apply:
The grid is partially covered with fog. Correctly placed digits will clear the fog around that cell.

Overall it's a nice puzzle, and I really like the arrow length constraint, it creates some interesting logic with the fog. But it did feel a little clunky on the second half of the solve.
