Rosetta (Whisper Ten Line Ambiguity)
(Published on 26. November 2023, 09:00 by tallcat)
It's been a while since I made an ambiguity puzzle as I think that my last one
"In or Out?"is one of the best puzzles I have made. This one combines the classic german whispers with the more recent ten lines constraints. Although not as hard as my past ambiguity puzzles, it's hopefully still as fun. Happy solving!
Normal sudoku rules apply
Lines in the grid represent
either German Whisper
or 10 Lines. The solver must deduce which are which. (Note: lines must fit into only one constraint)
German Whispers: Adjacent cells on green lines must differ by at least 5. Digits may repeat on lines if allowed by other rules.
Ten Lines: Each line consists of one or more contiguous groups of cells, each of which sums to 10. These groups of cells cannot overlap; every cell is part of one group. Digits may repeat on lines and even within sums.
Can be played online at
f-puzzles or
Sudokupad
Solution code: Column 5 (Top to bottom) and row 7 (left to right). 18 digits, no spaces

Lovely! Really enjoyed the way the near-symmetrical lines worked themselves out in completely different ways.
