Circular Sums

(Published on 5. November 2023, 10:08 by sujoyku)

In previous puzzles, I already have used the combination of circled digits and killer cages. Now I had the idea to turn the circles themselves into killer cages by giving clues that indicate only the sum of circled digits. This has led to the following puzzle. The estimated difficulty is 3/5. Please feel free to share your opinion in the comments. I wish you joyful solving!

- Normal sudoku rules apply.

- Circles: A circled digit indicates exactly how many circles contain that digit. (Note: This also includes circles with emerging arrows.)

- Circle sums: A clue outside the grid indicates the sum of the circled digits in the indicated row, column or diagonal. (Note: The 30 clue in the top right is not a standard little killer clue, but only indicates the sum of the circled digits on that diagonal.)

- Arrows: Digits on an arrow sum to the digit in the circle from which the arrow emerges.

- Killer cages: Digits in a cage do not repeat and sum to the clue in the top left.

added a remark in the rules to clarify a possible misinterpretation of the given diagonal clue, no changes to the contents of the puzzle

Could you please emphasize that the 30 is not a standard little killer clue? I broke the puzzle twice because I thought that the 30 was the sum of all the diagonal cells.

**
Thank you for pointing out this misunderstanding, killer_rectangle! I am sorry for your inconvenience and have added a remark to clarify the rules in that regard.
Kind regards, sujoyku

Flowed nicely, good fun. Also very approachable, felt a lot easier than 3/5, more like 1-1.5
