Meidjuizy

(Published on 14. November 2023, 11:36 by Lizzy01)

This is the first time I've set a non-sudoku pencil puzzle other than linesweeper.
I'm not sure about the difficulty, but I think it should be about 3.5 stars.

Any solves, comments and ratings (as well as solves of any of my other puzzles!) are highly appreciated!

Rules:

Meidjuluk rules apply, i.e.
Divide the grid into N regions, one of each size 1 to N (N = 12 in this case). Black cells are not in regions.
A region may not contain repeated numbers, and it may only contain factors of its size (e.g. a region of size 6 may contain any combination of 1,2,3, and 6, including none of them).

In this puzzle, enter these numbers yourself into the cells with arrows (other cells remain empty), such that they equal the number of cells belonging to the same region as the cell with the arrow seen in a straight line in the corresponding direction (not counting itself) before the first cell outside the region (or the edge of the grid).

Play here on Penpa.

Solution code: The number of cells between region borders in each region (from left to right) in rows 3, 6, 7.

This was outstanding! I absolutely loved the core epiphany of the puzzle. I am also a huge meidjuluk fan and had overlooked this puzzle, so I am so glad CtC brought it to my attention!

--Thanks!

I thought I was doing well at first but kept second guessing my deductions, until I was struck by lightning, which meidmuizy, and then it all came together at lightning speed as well.

Really cool thanks, and thanks for doing a few of mine as well!

--Thank you!
