Equality Cages 102: Renbanification

(Published on 31. October 2023, 23:59 by gUBBLOR)

Here comes another puzzle with Equality Cages! The previous and next puzzle in the series:
Equality Cages 101: Introduction to Equality Cages
Equality Cages 103: Flüsterzeit (Whisper time)

All my series:
Equality Cages
EquaLite Cages
Shifter Lines
Shifter Dots

Rules:
Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 through 9 in each empty cell. Digits must not repeat within the same row, column, or box.

Equality cages: Cages must have an equal number of low (1,2,3,4) and high (6,7,8,9) digits AND an equal number of even (2,4,6,8) and odd (1,3,7,9) digits. Equality cages can never contain 5. Digits may not repeat in a cage.

Kropki dots: A black dot between cells indicates cell values with a 2:1 ratio. A white dot between cells indicates cells with consecutive values. Not all dots are shown.

X: Adjacent cells connected with an X must sum to 10. Not all X's are shown.

Renban: Digits along each renban line must be a set of consecutive digits in any order, and must not repeat.

Very nice puzzle! Also, thank you lordovol for mentioning that digits cannot repeat in cages!! I was stuck at that part for ages before. Is it possible to update the ruleset in Sudokupad to match what's written here?

Not without recreating the whole puzzle from scratch unfortunately!

Very nice puzzle. I spent a lot of time stuck because for some reason the sudoku pad description is missing the part where digits cannot repeat in cages

Very slick logic and a beautiful flow. Nice example of how equality cages can be incorporated into a highly rewarding puzzle. One thing though: In my solve the white Kropki dot in box 3 was not needed since those two digits were the only ones left in column 9 after I got the renban and, as a consequence, the black Kropki and the x in box 9.

Oh yeah, nice catch. I just tried solving it again and the white dot is indeed unecessary. It's a happy little accident, but solving without it made the puzzle slightly harder, so I'll leave it in as I want the puzzle to be very approachable.
