Sequential Sums (Disjoint groups killer sudoku)

(Published on 28. October 2023, 17:29 by sujoyku)

This puzzle is my first uploaded sudoku with the Disjoint Groups constraint. The difficulty probably lies between 1/5 and 2/5. I like to thank CaptZebraCakes for testing and giving his feedback on the puzzle. Please feel free to write in the comments what you think about the Disjoint Groups-variant and how you like this puzzle. I wish you joyful solving!

- Normal sudoku rules apply.

- Disjoint groups: Cells in the same relative position must contain distinct digits in each 3x3 box. If, for example, R1C1 contains a 5 neither R4C4, R4C7, R7C4 or R7C7 may contain a 5.

- Killer cages: Digits in a cage do not repeat and sum to the clue in the top left.

- Diagonal: On the negative main diagonal digits do not repeat.

A great puzzle to introduce solvers to the disjoint rule. It paired nicely with these deliberately designated cages.

Disjoint groups has become one of my favorite constraints. The layout of this puzzle with the cage totals made that quite fun. Thanks for setting and sharing!

Very nice puzzle and great use of the three constraints. They compliment each other quite well!

Thank you for your comment, meggen033! I am glad that you liked the interaction of the different constraints. I really enjoy your puzzles and they also inspired me to set a disjoint groups variant puzzle myself. Therefore your approval means a lot to me.
