Rules:

  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • Along thermometers, digits must increase from the bulb end.
  • Digits in thermometer bulbs must be equal to the square root of the sum of the corresponding cage.
  • Digits separated by a V must sum to 5. Not all V are given.

Solution code: Column 1 followed by column 2.

I wasn’t sure which bulb corresponded to which cage at first. Once started, it flowed beautifully through to the end.

Yep, similar(?) to Tingo had to double check the square root rule for the cages after completing your other square root puzzle (radical rainbow). ie Initially thought was impossible, so reread the rules to glean a new perspective. Once I realized the limitations this was quite straightforward from there...very enjoyable and a really nice symmetrical setting. Kudos...

I broke this puzzle the first time I tried it because I didn't apply the rules properly. My second run fared much better. Quite fun. Thanks for setting and sharing!

A lot of fun! and became easier once I stopped trying to solve a different puzzle, where the 2 cell cage showed the square (eg 81) and not a sum!
