Negentropy
(Published on 13. October 2023, 23:00 by ViKingPrime)
PUZZLE:
RULES:
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
•
Negentropic (
red):
All digits along a Negentropic line belong to the same grouping, being low {1, 2 or 3}, medium {4, 5 or 6} or high digits {7, 8 or 9}.
•
Thermometer: The
value of digits along a thermometer must increase from the bulb to the tip.
MODIFIERS:
•
Entropy: Each 2x2 box must contain a low {1, 2 or 3}, medium {4, 5 or 6} and high digit {7, 8 or 9}.
•
Möbius: Each separate instance of the digit 1 may be considered as having the value of either 1
or 10 (
but not both).
INTRODUCTION:
I've been buried so deeply into Schrödinger-style puzzles that I almost forgot what setting other puzzles was like; thus it's time to dust off the ol' Möbius constraint! because while I'm happy enough to go back to 9-digit Sudoku for awhile, I'm not sure I'm ready to give up on the umlauts.
Many thanks to
sirxemic, whose
SudokuMaker app made this a lot less time consuming to set.
Have fun!

Solution code: The digits along Row 9, left-to-right, then along Column 9, top-to-bottom.

This and the (NotSo) Tropic Islands were a ton of fun. Both great puzzles!
(Oh, and you might want to fix the link to the NegenTropic Islands, it doesnt't work.)

@Krokant - appreciate the heads up! and thank you for the solve <3 -- VKP

Great puzzle! It had a nice start and I really enjoyed how those middle rows ended up working. Thanks!

I usually struggle a lot with global entropy but this one came out very nicely! Thanks for setting (:

@tobymgk - Thank you so much for saying! you've made my whole day.
I'm with you on this one, entropy can be a mindbender. I've found it helps to recognize only certain patterns within a box can be valid; if you check over your solve, I'm sure you'll notice a few -- VKP
