All 5's in the grid must strictly have EITHER; a '1' directly above it AND/OR a '9' directly below it. It may have both, but it doesn't need both.
Examples provided below on an empty grid.

German Whisper Lines
Two cells connected by a green, German whisper, line must have a difference of at least 5.

Put the GWL and DFM ruleset together, and the result is an approachable, fun and very nice puzzle with a satisfying break-in and a good, smooth flow. Thanks, Flinty! :)

So... I've been going through the list of your DFM puzzles, and I have been getting absolutely stomped by them. Just... so crazy stuck. Then I finally re-read the rules. I didn't realize that the 1 HAD to be over the 5 and the 9 HAD to be under the 5. I assumed they could appear in either position. Friends... don't be like me. READ THE RULES!!

But in all seriousness, this puzzle was a joy, and I'm excited to go back to the others. I assume I will be more successful now.

Thank you for this fun puzzle, Flinty! I was a little stuck and then noticed I had missed a deduction based on the Dutch flats constraint. After that the solve kept nicely flowing. Thank you for setting and sharing!
