Schrödinger 104: Quantum Entanglement

(Published on 12. October 2023, 23:10 by ViKingPrime)

PUZZLE:

RULES:

"Normal" Schrödinger rules apply.
(i.e. place the digits 0 through 9 once each in every row, column and box;
two of the digits will have to share a Schrödinger Cell;
each row, column and box contains exactly one Schrödinger Cell).

Circle: Digits within a circle indicate exactly how many circles contain that digit.
Killer: Digits within a cage must sum to the number in the top-left corner (if given).

MODIFIER:

Schrödinger Certainty (Identical): Each Schrödinger cell contains the identical pair of digits.
Schrödinger Certainty (Restrictive): If a Schrödinger cell falls within a Circle cell, it marks an appearance for each digit (i.e. Circles track the number of digit appearances and not value appearances).

INTRODUCTION:

You may notice a different naming convention to the series. I decided to adjust a few things, given I sometimes steer away from tutorial-level challenges; you'll find the puzzles sorted by the difficulty as set by the solvers (which should help guide you on where you might like to begin).

This particular puzzle is a return to form, as it should be fairly approachable if you're at all familiar with marty_sears's Circle logic. I do hope you enjoy.

Here are some puzzles from other setters using a similar constraint:
"Mighty Arrows" by lepton
"Schrödinger's Foggy Rationale" by gdc

Have fun!

That was fun to solve! I avoided the mathsy part of counting the circles a bit too long but just because there was so much else to grab on to. The "Identical" constraint is very powerful and makes this way easier than the average S-cell puzzle.

@gdc - It was a fun logic combo to set. I think I'd like to try my hand at a fog-of-war puzzle next; your latest puzzle has inspired me <3 -- VKP
