Sandwich X Circles

(Published on 8. October 2023, 06:00 by ICHTUES)

Rules:

  • Normal Sudoku rules apply.
  • Each main diagonal cannot contain a repeated digit.
  • Clues outside the grid indicate the sum of the digits between the 1 and 9 in that row/column.
  • The 3 cells with the grey squares are containing even digits.
  • For a number in a circle, it indicates exactly how many circles contain that number. For example, if there is a 11 in any circle, then there are eleven 11s in circles.

Does the 5th rule imply that only digits are placed in circles, or is it possible to place numbers with two digits in the circle outside the grid? If so, does the 5th rule apply to those numbers?
