This is my third puzzle exploring German Whisper lines with various modifier cells. The previous two featured doublers and vampire cells.
Rules:
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
German whispers: adjacent digits along a line must differ by at least 5.
Additionally, nine cells in the grid are "halvers", which count as half their value for the purpose of the whisper lines (this will result in a non-integer value for some cells). There is exactly one halver in each row, column, and box, and they form a set of the digits 1-9.
Solution code: Column 5

Absolutely loved it! Was really pleasantly surprised that the halvers logic continued to be useful even after the whispers lines were filled in

A lot of the difficulty in this puzzle was not finding the next thing to think about, but ensuring my deductions were correct! There was a lot of potential for overlooking subtle possibilities. I really enjoyed it.

This puzzle has some tricky logic. I broke the puzzle a few times before I solved it.
