»This year you'll need to come up with a new puzzle for ...!«, said Santa to his gnomes. »Oh, that's easy, we'll just make a Japanese Sum«, replied the first gnome. »that's how our predecessors always did it.« »But we should at least incorporate one additional variant«, retorted the second gnome. »How would you feel about cryptified clues?« »You could almost call that a standard variant,« the third gnome opined, »so let's at least embed a congruence loop into it, that travels along the edges.« »But what does a congruence loop have to do with Japanese Sums?« asked the fourth gnome. »How would it be, if the digits that are inside the loop count double when the sums are determined?« proposed the fifth gnome. Finally all the gnomes were in agreement, and together they produced the following puzzle:

incredible puzzle ... got more than once dizzy when drawing the congruence loop ... didn't the gnomes say it travels along the edges ???
