The Knights Who Say "Negator"

(Published on 17. September 2023, 06:41 by Scojo)

Rules:
  • Normal sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.
  • Anti-knight: Cells a chess knight's move apart may not contain the same digit.
  • Between Lines: Values on a line must be strictly between the values in that line's circled endpoints. Values may repeat if allowed by other rules.
  • Negators: Place 9 'Negator' cells in the grid so that there is exactly one Negator in every row, column, and 3x3 box. Each Negator cell must contain a different digit. The value of a Negator cell is equal to -1 times the digit it contains.

What a fantastic puzzle! Locating the Negators required creative, careful thinking. And once I had placed them, the puzzle remained interesting to the end.
