Normal sudoku rules apply.
Shade some cells such that all shaded cells are orthogonally connected and all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected and no 2x2 area is fully shaded or unshaded.
Digits in caged cells indicate how many cells of the same color (shaded or unshaded) are seen orthogonally from that position, including itself. The "other" color blocks vision.
The clues outside the grid show the sum of the first X digits from that direction, where X is the first of those digits.

The puzzle had a tough break-in, but it got flowing so well by the end that the completion screen caught me by surprise! Very well set, as always.

Thanks a lot for the puzzle!
I was really stuck at the beginning, but given that Yin-Yang sudoku is my favourite type I went to try another one of yours, and that's when I remembered some things about Yin-Yang (trying to prevent spoilers) and came back to this one.
It was challenging, but very smooth, I really liked it.

Yet another great addition to this series! The logic flowed very nicely between the yin yang and X-sum clues.
