Slitherlink Stations

(Published on 12. September 2023, 09:00 by Agent)

As promised here is another Slitherlink variant, inspired by the "Bahnhöfe" ruleset on the portal - though given that a Slitherlink loop cannot cross itself, and doesn't need to visit every vertex, the logic is probably more similar to Slalom. I think the puzzle is easy for the most part, but there is a harder step.

Rules

  • Connect some pairs of orthogonally adjacent dots to form a single non-intersecting loop. Clues represent the number of edges drawn surrounding the clue (up to four).
  • The loop must pass through all the numbered vertices in order from 1 to 9.

Puzzle links

Solution code: The number of vertical edges used by the loop in each row, from top to bottom.

Loved it! Cool how few clues are needed when stations are arranged in a clever way.

I love these 1-AHA-moment puzzles. Like a delicious snack for a couple of minutes of free time.

Very nice and fun puzzle!

after hitting the block, my solution was to throw a mental string at the board and sorting it out. i guess that is topological insight.

Very enjoyable connectivity logic here ! I agree it is rather straightforward once you've considered that slightly harder step past the opening sequence. But that harder step is also what makes this puzzle interesting. Thanks :)
