"The puzzle was created by our apprentice gnome," came the meek reply from one of the scribes. "He's always out at the fairgrounds, and I don't think he'll be coming in again before Christmas. He's always talking about a ghost train on which he gets his inspiration, and also, that he never wants to write rule sets for puzzles again." "Well, hopefully the recipient can make something of it. Who in the world is it supposed to be, anyway?"
Solution code: For each row except the last, the number of fields the way goes down.

Ausnahmsweise mal ein Zwischenbericht: Ich bin begeistert von dem Rätsel, nur bin ich ganz skeptisch, ob mein Stand zu einer Lösung führen kann, wenn - tja genau, wenn! - ich die Anleitung richtig verstehe :-) .
