This puzzle was originally set in August 2023 for the Cracking the Cryptic Discord's monthly prompt of "Danny Dae's Duelling Duals." The prompt asked us to challenge another setter to a duel, and each set a puzzle with a given theme or ruleset. I challenged jojo81gaming to a duel with the theme Hot Versus Cold, using thermos and either Negators or Doublers. He chose to use Doublers, so I used Negators.
Rules:- Normal sudoku rules apply: Place each of the digits 1-9 in every row, column, and 3x3 box.
- Thermos: Values along a blue thermometer must increase from bulb to tip.
- Negators: Place 9 'Negator' cells in the grid so that there is exactly one Negator in every row, column, and 3x3 box. Each Negator cell must contain a different digit. The value of a Negator cell is equal to -1 times the digit it contains.
