Doubler Dash

(Published on 31. August 2023, 04:38 by thoughtbyte)

Normal Sudoku rules apply. Additionally:

Killer: digits in cages cannot repeat and their values must sum to the total given.

Doublers: nine cells (one in each row/column/box) are doublers, and count as double their value in cage sums. Each digit appears in exactly one doubler.

This was really, really nice.
I love puzzles that need constant work. No downtime or looking for hidden clues. It's all there! Such a joy to solve. Thank you so much!

Does every doubler need to be in a cage?

-- Nope

Oh good! I thought I'd broken the puzzle near the end and was sad because I was enjoying solving it until I thought the doubler had to be in a cage in a cell where the box already had a doubler!

Super smooth throughout, and a fun introduction to doubler concept :)

I liked this, smooth solve path, but I'd push is to 2 stars :-)

Very nice, took me way too long to remember the 'all doublers have different digits' rule..

What a great puzzle. I did it to kill time during a bout of insomnia, so I was worried my mind wouldn’t be up to the maths (I don't think I’ve succeeded at a Doubler puzzle before), but it was just right, and so satisfying.

This was such a nice puzzle. It also reminded me how math in the morning is not my cup of tea. ;)

Thanks for a nice puzzle!

Perfect intro to doublers all the way to the very last step (which was exactly what I hoped it would be)

The logic is nice and there's oh so much math involved. I give this 2 stars for difficulty. Not among the easiest puzzles, but still fairly easy.

I really enjoyed this one. Some interesting arithmetics and smooth logic. Thanks for setting.

This puzzle is great as an introduction to modified cells with some simple but not completely trivial math! Thanks!
