Foggy Loop (FOW)

(Published on 28. August 2023, 04:47 by antiknight)

I've constructed this puzzle based on an interesting break-in idea combining FOW and Windoku! Leave a comment if you enjoy the puzzle!

Rules:
1) Normal Sudoku rules apply:
Place the digits 1-9 into each cell of the grid. None of the rows, columns or boldly outlined 3x3 boxes contain repeated digits.

2) Standard Arrows rules apply:
The digits along each arrow must sum to the digit in the circled cell. Digits may repeat along an arrow if permitted by other rules. Arrows don't branch and don't overlap each other. Every arrow circle has exactly one arrow tip connected to it.

3) Windoku rules apply:
Digits cannot repeat in marked cages.

4) Standard Kropki rules apply:
A black dot between cells indicates cell values with a 2:1 ratio. A white dot between cells indicates cells with consecutive values. Not all dots are given.

5) Fog of War rules apply:
The grid is partially covered with fog. Correctly placed digits will clear the fog around that cell.

Such a brilliant puzzle, with a couple profoundly challenging moments!

Here are two tips, which I don't think count as spoilers. Firstly, be aware that "Windoku" rules mean that the cages are 3x3. Secondofly, if you're hopelessly stuck on the break-in, see the CtC video "The Extraordinary First Sudoku Digit".

I did enjoy the break in which I worked out but I got completely stuck and the youtube video is how I found out what I was missing, but because I didn't completely solve it myself I havent submitted the solution code as without the video I would never have come unstuck (I can delude myself with maybe i would have eventually as there is no concrete proof either way)
