Huge thank you and credit to Packattack25 who came up with the idea and the breakin for his first ever puzzle. I helped with smoothing out the later parts of the solve and I think the result is very pleasing and has to be shared.
This is probably around 3.5 difficulty. I added some hints to the key parts of the solve to make it qualify as a 3 star puzzle. You will need some basic knowledge of yin yang. Have fun solving!
Rules:
Sudoku - Place the digits from 1-9 in every row, column and box exactly once.
Yin Yang - Each cell in the grid has to be marked either hot or cold such that
* all hot cells form a single orthononally connected region
* all cold cells form a single orthogonally connected region
* no 2x2 area is entirely hot or cold
Thermometer - Values on a thermometer must be increasing from the round bulb to the tip. Cold cells on a thermometer are considered to be negative values.
Hints:
Hints are written in white in the following paragraph. If you want too look at one, highlight the text.
Break-in:
The 11 cell thermo gives some shading + remember that no 2x2 area can be entirely hot or cold
Hint 2:
The second long thermo might be a little restricted now
Hint 3:
You should have gotten the perimeter by now. How can the hot region be connected?
Hint 4:
You are probably missing some sudoku. Think about high digits.
Hint 5:
Now the thermo in box 9 is quite restricted. Which options are left and what do they have in common?
Solution code: Column 1 from top to bottom.

Great puzzle. I made a silly mistake close to the start several times in a row causing me to break it more time than I want to admit. Fantastic debut.

Started out fairly easy, then it got progressively trickier later on but the overall solve was lots of fun with some good aha moments. Thanks for this :)

I really loved the puzzle and the idea with negative counting digits on thermometers in combination with yin and yang. Definetely one of the harder three star puzzles but really enjoyable!

Ying Yang puzzles always feel a bit overwhelming when you start them, but usually you are glad you did start.
This was another really fun puzzle with a lot going on.
Thank you both!
