MajorLuke I (Meidjuluk N=8)

(Published on 20. August 2023, 14:55 by PrimeWeasel)

Divide the grid into N regions, one of each size 1 to N. A region may not contain repeated numbers, and it may only contain factors of its size (e.g. a region of size 6 may contain any combination of 1,2,3, and 6, including none of them).

All given digits indicate the count of surrounding cells that are in a different region

Very nice, but harder than 2 stars in my opinion. Thank you

Ganz toll! Für mich das beste Rätsel seit langem, einschließlich Gedankenverknotung ;-).

MajorLuke is _not_ an improvement on the genre name. But it is clever, I agree.

~I'm sorry for attempting to rename your baby. I didn't intend to let the Major take over, but he is just so so persuasive, as far as I am concerned though, he'll only appear when there is an additional rule to the Meidjuluk.

—I wasn't criticizing the name, nor was I deadly serious about it. I was just reacting to szabog's comment ;-)

~ I know :)

Nice but deceivingly harder than expected for a small N=8 grid. Thanks

~Glad to see it didn't budge all that easily in the hands of marcmees

It is always painful to read the name of this type of puzzle, but good to solve. Still better than the other way around :) Thank you.

~ Thank you for solving and I've tried to improve on the name with MajorLuke :)

-- It's a Major improvement :)

Provided quite a challenge for me! I do think 2 stars for difficulty is fair for those more familiar with the Meidjuluk logic.

~Thanks for solving and commenting!
