Forty-four percent (Quattroquadri/Little killer/Consecutive pairs)

(Published on 5. August 2023, 17:45 by dumediat)

This puzzle features a grid that was created by Raumplaner for one of the daily setting prompts in the Sudoku Skunkworks, which uses four 3x3 sudoku boxes arranged in a 6x6 grid. This allows for some new and interesting logic, and I decided to play with vertical and horizontal little killer clues for this puzzle. The name "Quattroquadri" was coined by heliopolix and damasosos92, which translates to "four squares" (with quadri used as a shortened form of quadrati).

Rules:

  • Quattroquadri sudoku: Place the digits 1 to 9 once each into the 3x3 boxes. Digits may not repeat in the same row, column, or box of the 6x6 grid.
  • Little killer: Clues outside the grid indicate the sum of the digits in the direction(s) indicated by the arrow(s). Clues with multiple arrows give the sum in each direction indicated.
  • Consecutive pairs: Cells separated by a white dot must contain consecutive digits. Not all dots are given.

I enjoyed a lot testing the different versions of this puzzles. The final result is probably perfect and now I'm creating some Quattroquadri myself. Thanks a lot, dumediat!
