Badminton (Parity mirror sudoku with arrows and diagonal)

(Published on 5. August 2023, 01:12 by Qodec)

Special thanks to zegres not only for the inspiration, but also for kindly putting this in f-puzzles for me.

  • Sudoku: Each row, column, and region indicated by thick borders in the grid must contain the digits 1 to 9 once each.
  • Parity mirror: Odd-even parity is reflected across the diagonal running NW-SE. (For example: if R6C2 is odd, R2C6 must also be odd.)
  • Diagonal: The other diagonal running SW-NE must contain the digits 1 to 9 once each.
  • Arrows: Digits along an arrow can repeat and must sum to the digit in its attached circle.

You can play this puzzle online using:

Hope you'll enjoy!

Solution code: Row 7 and column 7. I.e. the 9 digits in row 7 from left to right, followed by the 9 digits in column 7 from top to bottom, for example: 123456789123456789

So many satisfying deductions in this! (along with an evil one). Had lots of fun with it.

Very clever puzzle, enjoyed it a lot. It got a lot of situations were I thought "now it's falling apart' but it didn't. So it took quite a while, but I really enjoyed it! Thank you, Qodec!

Came here from Zegres reverse arrow which I found well constructed. This one was also very well constructed and a lot harder. Thank you for sharing these wonderful creations.

A solve full of surprised. Enjoyed solving this a lot! Typical Qodec puzzle where every bit of logic is squeezed out of the constraint!

Very happy that great setters are playing around with this constraint!
Awesome and (at least for me) very challenging.

Those breakthroughs in the opening sequence were sensational and surely satisfying there, and the solve didn't stop being engaging after that :D
