For clarification, both grids have different solutions where shared unshaded cells are knapp daneben (one higher or one lower).
Don't peek at each other's grids. Sharing of information is encouraged.

Solution code: Row 9 of the Japanese Sums grid placing S for blank cells followed by Column 2 of the Sudoku grid. 18 characters no spaces

Veeery long 1 star puzzle :P The main difficulty was communicating accurately, which gave us a lot of trouble, and really tested our trouble-shooting skills. Fun!!
