This thematic puzzle was created to celebrate Bellsita's 666th solve on LMD. We joked about it in chat, and I decided to make it real. I tried to take inspiration from Bellsita's great RSL puzzles, and added S-cells and Quads for the sake of getting my 666 clue(s) ! Et voilà, a nice ringing bell puzzle ! With a bit of an evil/tricky ending to be fair, but I figured it was only fitting for a hellish themed puzzle. Enjoy !
Thanks to lerroyy for testing it !
Rules :
- Normalish sudoku rules apply : Every row column and box contains the digits 0-9 once each. To enable this, one cell in each row, column, and box is a Schrödinger cell (S-Cell) : it contains two digits.
- For the purpose of the other rules, the value of an S-cell is the sum of its 2 digits.
- Region sum lines : Blue lines must have an equal sum N within each region they pass through. If a line re-enters a region, each segment sums to N separately.
- Quads : the values of the digits contained in the white circles must each appear at least once in the 4 surrounding cells. For example, at least 3 of the 4 cells around the circle in R89C67 must have a value of 6.
Solve with Penpa (answer check on all cells).
Solve with CTC webapp (answer check on non S-cells).
I recommend solving with Penpa, because it has answer check on S-cells too, but answer check works for Sudokupad as well.
Enjoy ! And consider giving feedback if you appreciate the puzzle !

Solution code: All the digits in S-cells, lowest digit first, from top to bottom.

As tricky as this was, I know exactly how hard it can be to set special cell puzzles. Beautifully designed!

One thing, that I really know in this puzzle, is the answer to the question in your last comment @ bellsita.
The rest was improvisation...

Glad to see the perfect score appear. Thanks. Took me some time to realise I had to introduce the solution code from top to bottom and not from box 1 to box 9. :-)
---
@marcmees : Ha ha, thanks, we'll see how long this perfect score lasts ! The solution code was not supposed to trick anyone, though. I'll try to make it clearer.

@Bellsita : Glad you enjoyed this ! Now for the 1000th, I might have some nice idea as well. Little quizz question : do you know on what occasion church bells rang across all Brazil on Nov 19th, 1969 ?

I have no idea lol
