Brick Wall

(Published on 5. July 2023, 22:24 by benbruce)

Rules: In each cell, place one of the digits 1,2,...,9. Digits must not repeat in any row (including the partial rows 1 and 10), column, or region (outlined in bold). Cells separated by a black dot contain digits in a 1:2 ratio (in some order), while cells separated by a white dot contain consecutive digits. The set of cells not containing the digit D can be covered by non-overlapping dominoes (pairs of orthogonally connected cells), each of which consists of digits summing to S. The values of D and S must be determined by the solver.

Unfortunately, I'm new to setting and I'm unable to input this puzzle into any software. If you have suggestions, please comment. Any other comments are also welcome!

Very hard puzzle. Quite an unusual ruleset, with some some neat logical deductions!

Here's a penpa solving link: https://tinyurl.com/27owopj7

Here's one for the CTC app: https://tinyurl.com/2jzan48y

I couldn't figure out how to make solid boundaries work in the CTC app, so the regions are shown as dotted-line cages instead. Maybe someone else can do better.
