LM-Übungsrätsel: Hexagonales Tapa

(Published on 28. June 2023, 20:23 by CJK)

In preparation for this years german logic puzzle championship, I constructed a few puzzles which will be put online in the next few weeks.

Rules: Blacken some empty cells such that all black cells are connected and not three black cells are touching in point. Numbers indicate the size of black connected cells in the adjacent (up to 6) cells.

This puzzle is more of a showcase for large empty regions in hexagonal tapas.

Solution code: Row 4: W for a white and S for a blackened cell

Wasn't there somewhere a question how big an area without clues could grow in a rectangular tapa puzzle (i.e. what is the greatest distance of a non-clue cell to a clue cell in a valid tapa puzzle?).

In this hexagonal puzzle the distance is 4 (the middle cell is 4 cells away from a clue and all other cells are nearer). Hexagonal layouts seem to be more restrictive.

@pieter888 You are right, seems like I missed this part while translating the rules.
